Center Stages

Our mission "to preserve defend and protect the music, culture, arts, and rhythms of the South" is best served by actually living and breathing - even enjoying - the very things we are sworn to preserve and protect.  We believe by providing a platform - a stage - for art, music and culture we encourage growth and evolution instead of ossification.  When you visit the Center, you visit a stage that comes alive with every show.

Every Labor Day weekend we host our free extravaganza of music, dance, crafts, food and more that has defined the Delta region to the world.

Image Cultural Tours
Our tours don't put inanimate objects on a pedestal for view; instead, we introduce you to the very animated performers, craftspeople, storytellers and others who put the folk in folklore.  Contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for your school, tour group or individually guided tour.

Each year the Center presents over 300 musicians, artists and performers at our Festivals , concerts, tours and special events. They've performed at places like the Poretta Soul Festival to regional Festivals near Memphis. If you would like to book a blues band, soul revue, drum line show, bluegrass or jazz, Center staffers will be happy to provide the artist to make your event a success.

You can stage your event with us in any of our three unique spaces for parties, meetings, whatever you like.

You can also hire our talented artists - or a group of artists - to take the party to you wherever you are.

We also represent crafts people, artists and talkers - a unique addition to any gathering.
