Valerie June used to be considered one of Memphis best kept secrets but not any longer.  Her soulful blend of folk, R&B and even ancient country elements has made her one of the area's most popular performers with critics and audiences alike.  With a wealth of diverse influences ranging from Tracy Chapman to Elizabeth Cotton to Gillian Welch and the Carter Family, Valerie has crafted her own sound which she calls "Original Organic Moonshine Folk Music."
