Funk/soul/worldbeat style saxophonist, vocalist, flautist, performer ... the list goes on and on when talking about Hope Clayburn.  However, the most important piece to Hope's musical journey has been her raw energy and passion for all things funky and soulful.

Hope Clayburn's funky saxophone and flute chops mixed with her soulful vocals have allowed her to perform with an eclectic mix of artists, including James Brown, The Allman Brothers Band, Maceo Parker, North Mississippi Allstars and a host of other bands.  She has returned to Memphis,TN after touring throughout Europe this past fall and spring with Nashville soul band, The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker as they shared the stage with Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings.

You can now find Hope in Memphis, TN recording and performing with her own ensemble, Hope Clayburn's Soul Scrimmage, which will release a new CD/DVD this fall.  The band mixes soul/funk grooves to afrobeat and reggae vibrations to create an energetic and uplifting atmosphere.  The band features Hope on sax/flute/vocals/composer, Robert Allen Parker Jr. on guitar (creator of The Broken String Collective) and Khari Wynn on bass (current lead guitarist of Public Enemy).

So, you never know where you'll find Hope Clayburn next, but wherever it may be, it's gonna be funky!
