Kenneth Jackson is a traveling blues musician cum teacher whose mission is to educate young people about the rich legacy of the blues. His musician bona fides are impressive. He plays acoustic guitar, piano, trumpet and percussion and has toured with such elites as B.B. King and Ray Charles. His professional career began at age 14 as the opening act for James Brown. As an educator, Mr. Jackson has been involved with Memphis-area schools for many years teaching the history and technical components of the blues. He maintains that "exposing children to music in a positive sense when they are young proves fruitful in their later years because they can appreciate the music when they hear it. I have my degree in music education, but I've always been a performer at heart. This job allows me to combine both of my passions."
