8/13 Thursday: Judith Johnstone Americana Singer/Songwriter
Mid-south native Judith Johnstone
returned to Memphis in 2007 after 14 years in Louisville. In the brief
interlude since her return, she has devoted her time to producing
independent films as well as writing and performing her own songs for
the Memphis small club and coffee house circuit. She recently produced
her second CD called "Swallow" which features her own original songs.
Judith attributes much of her musical inspiration to such
singer/songwriters as Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams
among others. The songs she performs stem from the wide variety of
traditional musical genres and cultural influences that have come to be
known as "Americana."
What's for lunch? Local
