Someone once said: "Take the sound of two planets colliding... that's Tempeh Four." There couldn't be a more fitting description considering the band's fascination with the intertwined worlds of Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
Their music is like an extended conversation on stage, a combination of
dialogue with their audience and inside jokes among themselves.
Featuring the ethereal talents of Matthew Garth on keyboards, Austin Evans on bass, and Shelby Baldock
on drums, they blend jazz, funk, and blues into a musical landscape
that seems simultaneously insane yet funky. "Shelby Baldock sums up
their philosophy thusl: I simply want us to be a bunch of freaks, in
the good sense. Always into it, always grooving, always making music,
that's Tempeh Four. It's another-worldly sound raised and served in
Memphis, TN. Support the Center - and yourself - by getting a FolkPass.
