Happy Birthday Elvis! A Musical Tribute
Saturday, January 07 2012, 8:00pm - 11:00pm

The city of Memphis is the birthplace of many a Southern tradition- prime among them good food and good music.  So it should come as no surprise that we intend to celebrate the 77th birthday of our own King of Rock n' Roll- Elvis Presley.  Known the world over by just his first name, Elvis Presley continues to draw legions of fans to the Bluff City to visit Graceland and the city he loved so much.  Image

In honor of The King's birthday, The Folklore Store is proud to announce a tribute performance on January 7th by none other than Deering and Down.  This vocalist and guitar duo is no stranger to the Memphis music scene, now transplants from Alaska and Canada.  And their unique blend of northern folk and Memphis soul, Deering and Down are more than equipped to do Elvis justice.  The performance is Saturday, January 7th from 8pm-11pm.  Come down to the Folklore Store and help us celebrate!  Check out the band's website to learn more! www.deeringanddown.com

Location: 123 S. Main Street
Contact: 901.525.3655
The performance is from 8pm-11pm and tickets are only $10 per person. Proceeds from this performance support the 2012 Memphis Music and Heritage Festival, September 1-2, 2012.
